A Hidden Gem of Corfu
This is how one might envision the sandy beach of their dreams, if they could design it. Paramonas Beach offers all the amenities one could ask for and more! Its calm, shallow waters are characteristic of nearly all the neighboring beaches in the area.
The name of a previously unidentified beach on Corfu’s west coast is Paramonas. The relatively large and lively mountain village of Agios Mattheos is located 3 km away. There is a single, sizable hotel in the area, and small houses with rooms and studios are available for rent. A slender coastal road links Phuket with Etti and the Greek Islands, where you can catch a peek of white-washed villas tucked away amid lush greenery. This is among the island’s most serene and seldom visited locations.
Paramonas beach does not offer water sports activitites but you can still enjoy a swim and rent a sun lounger and umbrella.
All beachgoers can also take advantage of the public rinse showers and changing booths. Renting a pedal boat or small boat to cruise around and explore the surroundings is another valuable option.
Take a tour of the nearby amazing sites, like Ag. Mattheos or Chalikounas Nature Reserve. And of course, do not forget to relax with a proper dinner and wine at dusk!
It is fairly easy to reach Paramonas from Corfu town by car. It will take +/- 1 hour and you can either choose the Agios Mattheos route or rather the Agios Giordios narrow coastal road.
